Hello Friend,
Welcome to Sunday Supper, the table is set!
My favorite food holiday is just about a month away and I want to spend the next three Sundays sharing some of my favorite recipes I make around this time of year. There are so many that I love and some I brought back from a visit to Ireland that are truly authentic. Have you guessed it yet? It's St. Patrick's Day! It doesn't have to be only green beer and corned beef.
I am deeming today's recipe share the Guinness Edition, as each has a little or a lot of the classic beer that is so ubiquitous to Ireland.
Beef Pot Pie

This pot pie is a bit of my own modern take on the traditional. I envisioned a crisp, flakey top that could only be made possible by using puff pastry. And topping it with Irish Cheddar just sends this recipe right over the top and makes it even more Irish!

Richly stewed beef and vegetables surrounded by a lush Guinness gravy and topped with a light and airy crisp, I mean what could be better!? Serve it with an ICE-COLD Guinness and you've got a beautiful Sunday Supper.

Irish Brown Bread
Make a loaf of this to pair with the pot pie recipe above and you won't be disappointed! Though during these cold months, I'd bake a loaf of this just about any day. The soda bread we know in America is not traditional to what you'd really find in Ireland. Just "brown bread" there is a daily staple and this recipe may not be traditional to the Emerald Isle, but it is SUPER easy and delicious. Get ready to watch the loaf disappear right off the counter.

Guinness Stout Cake
This beautiful cake is one that is a bit of a call back to my restaurant days. I have adjusted the recipe to be perfectly enjoyed in your home kitchen. The cake is rich in flavor and incredibly moist from the presence of the guinness in the batter. For me this is an essential additon to my St. Patricks Day table, and it's one that is always enjoyed by anyone lucky enough to get to enjoy it alongside myself and my family!
