Sunday Supper: a One-Pot-Wins AGAIN!

Hello Friend,

Welcome to Sunday Supper, the table is set!

My favorite food holiday is just about a month away, so I want to spend the next four Sundays sharing some of my favorite recipes I make around this time of year. I have so many that I love and some I brought back with me from Ireland that are truly authentic. So have you guessed it yet? It's St. Patrick's Day! I'm here to tell you it doesn't have to be only green beer and corned beef.

Let's get into this weeks recipes, and let's call this the Whiskey Edition since they each feature delicious Irish Whiskey!

Irish Chicken in Whiskey Cream Sauce

The first recipe that I want to feature is one that has climbed the ranks and become one of THE most popular recipes on my website.

Maybe the best news of all is that it is the most delicious ONE POT WONDER and it is perfectly fit for the Sunday dinner table just about any day of the week or year.

Thinly sliced chicken is quickly seared in a large pan, then you make a whiskey cream sauce with the drippings, simmer the chicken in it, and serve over rice or potatoes for a simple and delicious dinner.

Classic Irish Coffee

I toured Ireland with a young adults group and met a great group of friends while on the adventure of a lifetime! I so enjoyed the trip and still dream of moving there one day, even if only for a little while. Ireland definitely has a piece of my heart! That said, one of the best parts was esuring we had an Irish Coffee in each pub we went into, EACH and EVERY one, lol! They kept us warm on many cold days and were equally delicious. I asked a bartender exaclty how to make one and this is it! The secret they said, FRESH WHIPPED CREAM.

Brown Butter Cake

This Brown Butter Cake with Irish Whiskey Cream Sauce is tender, delicate, decadant, and just a little boozy! I mean, need I say more? I LOVE this cake, and everyone I have ever served it to has asked for the recipe. The light and airy cake is soaked with a whisky syrup after baking and left to rest while it cools. Turn the leftover whiskey soak into a beautiful cream sauce that you can drench each slice in when you serve it. The sauce is so good you'll want to drink it, at the very least you'll be glad your the one who gets to clean the spoon at the end.

P.S. Feel free to respond to my emails any time you have a question you need answered, a knife or kitchen gadget recommendation, or a recipe you'd like to see me master. I am always here to be a kitchen resource for you, fire away.

I'd love to know if you've ever visited Ireland, you can reply right back and tell me. If you reply, let me know what your favorite part of the country was, mine was clearly the food!

May you find that your time in the kitchen brings you joy, and adds lots love to your dinner table.

Until next time, Happy Cooking,
