Sunday Supper: Make Mom Melt, The Recipe She'll Remember Forever!

Hello Friend,

Welcome to Sunday Supper, the table is set!

There is so much to celebrate this time of year, and while today holds a celebration all it's own, next week it is time to celebrate mom, and all those mother figures in your life. My mom is my best friend, forever confidant, and the one who taught me everything I know about taking care of family. Here's what I am going to cook for mom next week.

Giant Meatballs

This recipe is so simple to put together, and yields the most tender and delicious meatballs you'll ever eat!

Making them big means they don't require as much time in the kitchen, and less work is always a win in my book.

You can let them simmer in the sauce for up to a few hours, which means they can be made ahead for a simple and foolproof dinner mom will LOVE!

Last Thoughts...

If you need a few other ideas for moms day dinner, mine always enjoys my Steak Frites or Stuffed Pork Tenderloin too. Just to toss out a few other options for you.

I cherish EVERY day that I get with my momma, and every time someone asks me how I got started in food it reminds me of her. The short answer to that question is, she went through a bout of illness when I was about 13 years old. With a father in the military, her and I would meal plan together, then a friend would take me out grocery shopping for the ingredients we needed, and I would bring them back and cook recipes as she read them to me to feed her, myself, and my sister when dad was gone.

That was such a hard, yet special time in my life, and the beginning of taking to where I am today, and what I am still building for my future. It catapulted me into going to culinary school, working in restaurants, and rediscovering my love for food and the "real" reason it is so great. Not just becaue it tastes good, but because it brings the family together.

It is easy to get lost in the every day, and to get tired of cooking. But I challenge you to make dinner for Mom next Sunday, even if it isn't one of my recipes, and just soak in some time with her.

Strawberry Crunch Cake

End the meal on a sweet note with this totally make ahead cake. Take all the stress out of it and make this the day before and surprise mom with this beautiful dessert. It is reminicent of one of my favorite ice cream bars, but in a super moist cake with a crunchy top.

Easy Blueberry Muffins

If you only focus on one thing to make mom's day special, kick it off right with breakfast. These muffins take only a few minutes to prep and can be enjoyed right out of the oven. She is sure to love these and there will be plenty for the whole family to enjoy too!

P.S. Feel free to respond to my emails any time you have a question you need answered, a knife or kitchen gadget recommendation, or a recipe you'd like to see me master. I am always here to be a kitchen resource for you, fire away.

May you find that your time in the kitchen brings you joy, and adds lots love to your dinner table.

Until next time, Happy Cooking,
