Whenever I whip out this recipe my family comes RUNNING to the table. There are even almost fights over the end pieces, even though I make each person their own personal calzone, lol!

Homemade Calzones

To say that my family loves when I make these would be a bit of an understatement. These calzones are adored in my house! ​ As the cook of the house, I appreciate that I can do almost all of the prep for these ahead of time. Part of my goal in the recipes that I share here is for you to create meals that make moments around you dinner table. As a former restaurant chef I try to bring you restaurant favorite recipes, but in an approachable way, so that you can feel confident recreating them in your home kitchen.

I do this because I know how important every dollar we earn today is, and all of this help to stretch those. I cook at home 6-7 days a week, even if that includes reinventing leftovers. I struggle with going out to eat and spending way too much money on meals that end up subpar or delivered to me cold.

I know that as a former restaurant chef, that is probably a little bit of a shock to hear, but I know how much it costs to make each of the dishes on a menu, and I just always know I can make it at home for far less, and most likely better quality.

I was asked in my weekly question series on instagram this week, what my favorite fast food was. One of my favorites is a Panera salad, pretty much any of them. But after I customize it it ends up being $13-15 dollars, and I can buy the ingredients and make them at home for the same price, yet eat one EVERY day of the week for that cost. So that kind of splurge is reserved for really low days, or when I travel.

I hope that the recipes I share with you, even here, help you stretch your dollars, and inspire you to get in the kitchen, all while having FUN with it, because what is life if it isn't fun!?

Coconut Pecan Triple C's I recently added this recipe to the website and it's one inspired by a cookie that my grandfather loved. While I made it a little bit me, and a little bit him, it still harkens back to that cookie he loved.
